We are a non-profit institution which offers free library services to children and their families. Our mission at
the Montreal
Children's Library is to meet the literacy and information needs of
children in Montreal,
in areas not adequately served by city libraries, by providing books, information technology, audiovisual materials, story programs and other resources.  The
Montreal Children's Library exists thanks to the vital support of
donors who believe education and access to books is not only for the
privileged, but a right for all children. Your support helps
us
to encourage a love of reading among the many children who come to the
library. Please take a moment to reflect on the importance of
books and literacy in your life, and help us to continue this valuable

Our initiatives for the future include updating and enhancing our book collection, continually improving our library environment to create a more comfortable, welcoming, user-friendly atmosphere that is always conducive to learning and pleasure reading. In 2009 the Montreal Children's Library celebrated 80 years of providing service to the children of Montreal. For more information go to the 80th Anniversary page.
